Weddings are full of traditions, some recent and some ancient... here we explore some of the most common and unusual wedding traditions, why they exist and whether they have any relevance in modern weddings. Several traditions we use in weddings today have roots in the Middle Ages or come from traditional religious backgrounds. Ancient cultures in particular were very superstitious, so if things weren't done correctly then you were doomed to a lifetime of unhappiness! Thankfully we're a little less affected by that in modern times, but there are still plenty of traditions that are fun to uphold.
