The power of simplicity is so eloquent. We find that a stylish black and white wedding can deliver exquisite glamour and with a few high-impact details it allows for the true beauty to shine through. If there is ever a color palette that evoked instant allure it certainly is black and white – and this outdoor California fete has the pictures to prove with Lin and Jirsa Photography behind the lens. Add to that an Ines Di Santo bride standing out on the cliffs above the Pacific ocean and you get and instant wow.
Jamie and Marc met at UC Irvine while both studying for their MBA’s at the Merage Business School. They met during orientation and became best friends. A power couple from the start. Marc was leading the class as MBA Council President and Valedictorian and Jamie completing her joint degree in Business and Medicine. As the end of the degree drew near, Marc landed a position in San Francisco and Jamie planned to move to Philadelphia to pursue a residency in Emergency Medicine. It became clear that their friendship had blossomed into a meaningful relationship which they continued long distance until they both moved back to Southern California. Over the years, Marc and Jamie spent a lot of time at Mammoth Mountain in the Eastern Sierras. Over the holidays, Marc battled blizzardy weather to make the trek from San Francisco to the mountains and proposed in their home among family. The engagement ring was designed using a pear shaped diamond that has been in Marc’s family for three generations and side stones that are Jamie’s mother’s first wedding anniversary.
Black and White Wedding
As they planned their dream day, Jamie and Marc knew they wanted to be outdoors overlooking the ocean and surrounded by nature with their family. Their wedding focused on sophisticated, simple, elegance with a black and white color palette that Kathy Recchia from Save the Date Events pulled off in impeccable style and taste. Jamie wore an Ines Di Santo gown from Lovella Bridal and also had her veil designed by Ines Di Santo. The inspiration for her cathedral length veil came from the lace of her Barcelona. Blooms by Gilly Flowers and Events filled the room in tall vases and nestled into the floral garland that spread across the sweetheart table. Adding to the vibe with a touch of moderninity is Vanilla Bake Shop’s four tier delicacy with two tiers wrapped in ribbon. But it was the moments that Jamie and Marc took for themselves after the ceremony that will stand out from the rest of their wedding day as they climbed the cliffs to enjoy their first official sunset as man and wife – with many more to come!
