A glamorous, elegant destination wedding in Maui equals magic to us. It’s the place where dreams become reality, an island that must have been crafted specifically to be the best wedding location ever. Take this destination wedding, for instance. Lush florals from Dellables Wedding Florals and Design, glam design by Bliss Wedding Design & Spectacular Events and tropical paradise at the Olowalu Plantation House with a bride wearing Galia Lahav – how could a couple go wrong? The romantic love story behind why these nuptials took place on the island is a sure sign of fate. Thanks to Eric James Photography, we get to savor the beauty frame by frame.
Falling In Love
Gianna and Steven met in high school, somewhere along the road of football games, sunny San Diego beaches, working at Nordstrom, a little Boxer named Hank, college graduation, back packing through Europe and an apartment in San Francisco – they fell madly in love. During this time, Steve achieved his lifelong dream of becoming a fire fighter and was hired by the San Francisco fire department which was cause for celebration. However, instead of commemorating him – he chose to celebrate them by proposing to the girl that stood by his side throughout the journey. The party quickly became an engagement party. Maui has always held a special place in Gianna and Steven’s hearts. Each going on trips with their families, and then as they dated making annual trips. Gianna’s mother also lived on Oahu where her grandmother’s ashes were spread. To say the least, it was the perfect place for them to exchange their “I Do’s” and celebrate with their family and friends.
Destination Wedding in Maui
Their vision was a chic and timeless wedding with dashes of glitz and glam. Sometimes all it takes is one element to inspire an entire work of art. In this case, Bliss Wedding Design & Spectacular Events found that inspiration in the elegant table cloth from La Tavola. The sheer blush overlay, sequined texture, and golden tones of the fabric made for a dazzling backdrop. It was a perfect springboard that helped bring the rest of the decor together – from the golden details to the voluptuous ivory and pale pink florals and decadent four-tier wedding cake by Maui Wedding Cakes. However, Gianna’s dream of a chic and glamorous wedding would have come true even without all the glitzy details. Why? One glance at the bride in her gorgeous lace Galia Lahav and you immediately understand. She could have glamorized a barn. Everything about Gianna and Steven’s oceanfront wedding was breathtaking and makes us want to hop on the next plane for a hula session ourselves!
