Layers of fall harvest inspiration unfold today with an unexpected equestrian twist that is bountiful with wedding décor ideas and brought to us by the top talent of Alchemy Fine Events. Most autumn weddings are done in shades of rusty oranges, golden yellows and warm reds - but, you aren't going to find that here. This dose of pretty brings harvest happiness through pops of color like the richness of eggplant, lemon zest and leafy artichoke green. While crisp white tables and chairs are elevated by the use of cream and periwinkle draping in the rafters of a private equestrian farm found in the hills of Rancho Santa Fe, California - presenting a unique venue choice for a dream day. What's so enjoyable about this inspiration is that today's feature was a real event that uniquely translates into a feast of ideas for a true wedding day captured by photographer Paula Luna.

Modern Impressionism

Every event begins with an invitation and this one is beautiful to behold, hand-painted by Vanessa Van Wieren herself, owner of Alchemy Fine Events. For the exclusive soiree, she painted a modern impressionistic horse and landscape painting and paired a laser cut belly band in the shape of the farm's entry gates. A custom rose gold crest sealed the invite featuring an illustration of a horse which was used throughout the event including the napkins and menus. The event stationery featured water-colored fruits and vegetables to create the fall harvest pattern for printed fabrics, dinner menus, bar signage and stationery.

Equestrian Glamour

Next, this talented team of vendors transformed the equestrian ring by establishing a custom platform build out for guests. They laid down lush dove gray carpet, perfectly blending luxury with rustic. From the draped rafters hung geometric pendent lamps to add a touch of romance with lighting along with pin-light centerpieces. Beautiful wood tables and plush linen padded dining chairs were also brought in for added comfort.

Bountiful Beauty

Keeping in line with the fall harvest theme, centerpieces included fruits and vegetables mixed with colorful flowers which were presented in custom gray stained wood troughs made to play off of the equestrian theme. The tablescapes included heavy pewter chargers and vintage china layered with multi-colored napkins held by a horse-bit and bridle napkin ring. Layers and layers of candles in hurricanes combined with modern crystal candleholders and copper candlesticks created a unique look that illuminated the beautiful arena. Flowers by Krista Jon were over-flowing with fruits and vegetables nested in silver trophy urns and modern geometrical glassware to carry the theme through. Modern lounge furniture with weathered grey wood was mixed with indigo blue velvet ottomans, mirrored coffee tables and eclectic décor to create welcoming spaces for guests to relax in.

Garden to Table

Guests were welcomed with custom craft cocktails like "Lavender Wand" and "Delta Peach" offered off of vintage silver trays along with tempting appetizers such as lobster crème fraiche cones by Coast Catering. In addition to tray passed appetizers, guests were treated to a stunning cheese and charcuterie display which was offered on a round wood bookshelf under a perfectly placed shady pepper tree. Dinner was all about garden to table, with a five course pairing of locally grown organic produce and wine. Blood orange intermezzo was a beautiful palate cleanser that was a wonderful idea on a hot fall day! After dinner guests retreated to the courtyard where Top Chef star Richard Blais treated them to a cooking demonstration as his signature dessert was passed around. A whiskey and cordial bar was created for an after dinner nip that was styled with horse shoes, a leather hide and vintage books, candles and decanters for a masculine library feel.

Olympic Entertainment

Of course, no soiree is complete without entertainment. As guests dined, they enjoyed an equestrian show featuring Olympic riders showcasing their dressage skills while an orchestra provided the soundtrack.

Seasonal Inspiration

A true evening of equestrian glamour with an abundance of seasonal and earthy creativeness that can translate to a dinner rehearsal or rustic glam wedding day.
