A vision of color does not even begin to describe this destination Indian wedding that took place over the course of three-days at The Ritz Carlton Orlando, Grand Lakes in Florida. This culture beauty called for color, opulence and tradition and Wonderful Weddings delivered in their design work with breathtaking images from Mariana and Khaled of Kismis Ink Photography.
New Yorkers Anjali and Sagar met through mutual friends. They both have a passion for the beach and for intimate walks through their hometown’s parks and city streets. India is Anjali’s favorite country to visit where she travels every year to spend quality time with her extended family. Sagar’s first trip to India was to meet her family. He instantly fell in love with the country and soon-to-be in-laws.
When planning their dream wedding, the couple took into consideration all of the traditions and celebrations of the Indian culture creating an event full of emotion, fun and elaborate details.
The first night was a welcome dinner for friends and family who flew in from other countries and states. Wonderful Weddings and event designer Occasions by Shangri-La created three lounge areas with market lighting for the outdoors, hookah and a photo booth area for guests. They had live entertainment, a slideshow and three dinner stations where guests dined on an array of Indian, Mexican and Asian cuisine.
Day two of Anjali and Sagar’s celebration was also outdoors and a gorgeous landscape of women wearing shades of pink, purple and orange. The henna artist crafted beautiful mendhi on their arms, hands and feet. Look closely and you may see loved one’s names worked into the design. Sagar’s sister made 24-karet cake pops that were nearly too beautiful to eat while mimosas were served and gift bags delivered to the women in attendance. All of Anjali’s “unofficial bridesmaids” were gathered for the festivities.
Moving into the evening they shared in the sangeet, a pre-reception. For this portion, Wonderful Weddings and Occasions by Shangri-La crafted a tented indoors in pink and orange fabric drapes. Guests while enjoying dance performances by the couple’s closest family and friends savored appetizers of Indian street snacks.
On the morning of Anjali’s wedding day, the Florida sun beamed. She arrived by horse and carriage to the baraat while the dhol played exquisitely in the background for dancing toward the alter. Red and orange parasols where provided to guests. A small ceremony was held as they met the bride’s side of the family and the new mother-in-law laid a lush red garland over Sagar. After the ceremony, Anjali and Sagar departed by carriage for yet another wardrobe change for cocktail hour and elaborate and magical reception brimming with white floral and candlelight to match the warmth and love of this new family.
This soiree redefines beauty and the talented team who put all the fine details into the behind the scenes is truly to be commended. Kismis Ink Photography certainly proved the eye candy proof!
