Wedding Bouquets - Poetic Peonies

The peony is perhaps the most extravagant and well-loved flower for a wedding bouquet. A peony in full bloom carries the same enchanting and mysterious qualities as a sublime piece of poetry unfolding before an eager and appreciative audience. In all their fullness and colorful array, peonies certainly win the affection of brides as a beautiful wedding flower. Pulitzer Prize winner Mary Oliver eloquently describes these luscious blossoms as "pools of lace, white and pink" in her poem simply called, "Peonies", and goes on to declare them "wild and perfect for the moment." An apt description of this sensuous flower, which often casts a heady fragrance that enhances its stunning beauty.
